Iligan's Pride:Cheding's Peanut
I.Introduction:
Iligan is nestled in the midst of luxuriant beauty of Northern Mindanao.It is a city truly blessed and nurtured by Mother Nature.It is protected from typhoons by natural barriers;its terrain is hugged by a long stretch of shoreline along the Iligan Bay.
Its mountains and lush forest hide numerous waterfalls and its embrace,earning for itself the title "City of Waterfalls".The most famous,enchanting and the most awesome of this is the Maria Cristina Falls along the Agus River.Agus and Maria Cristina are sources of hydroelectric power for most of Mindanao's requirements.Spring like Timoga and Taytay are sources of cool and pristine water for swimming resorts that provide relief from summer heat.The coastline as well offers beaches and picnic grounds.
The rich soil,even rainfall distribution,and ideal topography provide suitable conditions for diverse agricultural ventures.
With all the natural wonders and blessing bestowed upon the city,the most prized asset of Iligan is still the one warm and vibrant hospitality of its people.Both natives and people of different ethnicity all come together to make Iligan their home.
A.Background:
Cheding's Peanut store has been in Iligan City for decades.Tourists and travelers flock the store for its numerous delicacies to take home to family and friends.Cheding's Peanut peak season is on city fiesta time(September),Christmas season and the summer months.This packs come in different sizes,1 kilo,1/2 kilo,370 grams,50 grams,1/4 kilo and 200 grams foil pack.Cheding's bestseller is 1/4 kilo pack at 42 pesos.
For 47 years,the business remains steadfast in producing quality peanut products for the Filipinos here and abroad as well as with the other nationalities who could taste the peanuts.
A pinch of love like salt,and keeping faith with tradition made for the success of Cheding's Peanuts,THE ORIGINAL ILIGAN'S PRIDE, "NAG-IISANG PASALUBONG NG ILIGAN".
Cheding's Peanut,known as the pride of Iligan City has been staple of Philippine food for over 50 years.Starting with the original roasted peanuts,there are now 10 different flavors enjoyed by Filipinos everywhere.
B.Rationale:
The purpose of this study is to know further about the peanut of Cheding.To promote their products and to improve the economy of Iligan City.To know what is the beginning of Cheding's Peanut.

D.Significance of the Study:
We choose to study Cheding's Peanut because we believe that through studying this delicacy we boost the tourism of Iligan City and it can open opportunities to Iliganons.
E.Scope and Limitation:
This study is only focuses on the production of Cheding's Peanut which is mainly found in Iligan City in the province of Lanao del Norte.This Cheding's Peanut has only one store in entire Iligan City which is found at Sabayle Street but its products are not only exclusive in Iligan City but throughout the whole Philippines.
